Hello!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Miharu, a student at Hannan University.<\/p>\n

The weather has been really hot lately, but the nights have been really cool, which is perfect for summer festivals!<\/p>\n

The other day, I wrote about making buckwheat noodles.<\/p>\n

But guess what? We got to try another new thing! :D<\/p>\n

What\u2019s this good-smelling park?<\/p>\n

We turned left, and there we were!<\/p>\n

The factory is called Awaji-Kunjyudou.<\/p>\n

This red noren curtain marks it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s incense!!<\/p>\n

I thought that we were going to make regular ol’ sticks of incense, but when I heard the explanation, I was really surprised because it sounded like we were going to make colorful clay!<\/p>\n

When I first saw this, I thought it just looked like powder.<\/p>\n

We could choose whatever color and scent we liked, and make our own incense.<\/p>\n

There were some really interesting smells. ;)<\/p>\n

There were so many fragrances!<\/p>\n

Kneading.<\/p>\n

After kneading the clay, I cut out cookie-like shakes.<\/p>\n

After our seminar teacher heard that we could make 3D things, she made this. She’s such a joker!<\/p>\n

Why!? Why did she make a Moai statue?<\/p>\n

She looked up pictures of moai statues on her phone, then got soooo serious when she was making it.<\/p>\n

She redid it so many times, it ended up really dry.<\/p>\n

We had fun the whole time we were making them.<\/p>\n

We could take them home with us as soon as they were finished, so I’m looking forward to actually trying it out soon!<\/p>\n

If you want to try making incense like we did, you need to go in a group of at least two people, and it costs 1000 yen per person.<\/p>\n

There are other things you can try, too! Give it a shot!<\/p>\n
